The expectation of receiving flowers is so high that it’s often not something you can avoid.

If you want to do something really special, you can arrange to go on a trip together. Almost everybody loves to go on vacation, and renting a nice hotel room somewhere romantic will go over well most of the time. The time when you want to use caution with a gift like this would be when you haven’t been seeing somebody for too long. If it’s a new girlfriend or boyfriend, something like this might seem a little bit too forward and make them uncomfortable. If that’s the case, you might be better off going with something like tickets to a show or are arranging something like a limousine ride to go out to dinner. That way you get to spend time together in a romantic way, but you can take away some of the potential awkwardness of an overnight stay.
3.Men, when you are shopping for Lingerie
This is another one that might fall under the category of the old standards. Just like the gifts mentioned in the previous section, it is possible to be a little too forward and make somebody uncomfortable if you don’t choose wisely in this category. Guys, remember that this is a gift for your loved one and not for you. There are cases where something really sexy could be good, but you need to know the person quite well. It’s a much better bet to go with something she would really like. A nice set of satin pyjamas will usually fit the bill much better than a leather teddy. Ladies, it would be best to stay away from this category entirely.
4.Pieces of Jewellery for Valentines Gifts
It’s pretty hard to go wrong with this one. Most women will love something precious, and if you know her at all you can probably find something that she will love. This category might get overlooked for men sometimes, but if you buy him a nice watch he will love that too. If you decide that this is something that you want to do, it might help to get a little bit of guidance. Guys, this might be a good time to call in your mother-in-law to get her thoughts. Not only will she appreciate that you value her opinion, but you’ll probably end up getting a much better gift as well.
