- Quadcopter kit
- RepRap, or other 3D printer, kit
- A vintage kitchen mixer. Sounds odd, but surprisingly addictive, and good food may follow!
- Some Raspberry Pi microcomputers. These are dead cheap, and great for lots of projects that need a "brain". If unsure, get a few of $35 type with the network plug.
- An Arduino kit is an alternative to the Raspberry Pi. They are cheaper and smaller and less powerful, but for creative uses the applications are endless!
- A sous-vide machine. You'll never look back after all the succulent meats you'll eat after buying a sous-vide. If you're on a budget, get a rice cooker and a thermostat, they work really well too!
- A windmill power kit. Make your own power, and learn while you're at it.
- Vermicomposting kit. Keep worms in a can, and feed them with your organic veg. garbage. A beautiful symbiosis that most people can do without.
There you go. Lots of kits, but that's just what a geek likes. Good luck!
